La Haine / 25 ANS
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the premiere of one of my most favorite films: La Haine directed by Mathieu Kassovitz @mathkasso
And on this occasion I made such an illustration :)
A black and white film full of handfuls of the best traditions of the French New Wave, excellent script, action, music, and for a blocker in love with Paris in the 90s, the story of three boys from the Paris banlieue in 1995 was a contemporary A Bout De Souffle of those times. The film has not completely aged to this day, the problems of the poor, excluded Parisian suburbs today look the same as 25 years ago, police aggression, racism, social separation of emigrants are still present in French society and this film perfectly focuses this crucible in an extremely explosive image of the present three block boys. Petard!
